Chandigarh, October 3: The big guns continued to fire with Netsmartz Tigers showing their true class as they outclassed the Fairway Comets 6-1 at the JLPL Chandigarh Golf League 2022 in association with Vredestein Tyres here at the Chandigarh Golf Club.
Captain’s 18 had a break yesterday but played brilliantly to easily put it past the Ninjas 5.5-1.5.
The story of the day however, was Chashma Shah Royals who are still not with their full team but caused the upset of the day beating the fancied Punjab Aces 4-3. The Aces now have made their path to the knockouts much more difficult after consecutive losses.
Sleepy Owl Chargers clearly did something right after two very average days to beat the Partee Panthers 5-2. While the Chargers were aiming at a bigger margin, Rabiya Gill played the shot of the day on the final hole to score a crucial point for the Panthers.
Yadvinder Sidhu from the Netsmartz Tigers had the distinction of holing out on the 14th and while it is every golfer's dream, we’re sure he would give that up for a victory as this was the only pair that lost in the Tigers and Comets clash.
In one of the other matches, it was a disappointing day for Hunting Hawks as they frittered away some key points and eventually lost 4-3 to the Canam Raptors.
They always say work is for people who don’t play golf and on this manic Monday, when the club was not open to the regular members, it was a pleasure to see the full car park and so many friends and family following the JLPL Chandigarh Golf League.
The event now takes a break till the 19th of October and this is the time for the teams to regroup, strategize and come back ready for the kill.
