Hunting Hawks qualify for the knockouts at the JLPL Chandigarh Golf League 2022

Chandigarh, October 23: Hunting Hawks did the bare minimum required of them to book a place in the knockouts of the JLPL Chandigarh Golf League in association with Vredestein Tyres being played here at the Chandigarh Golf Club after squaring their match against The Mulligans. They joined seven other teams including Empire from their group who made it on a count back and will now battle amongst themselves over three knockout rounds to determine the inaugural Chandigarh Golf League Champions.

The final day of round robin matches saw Swinging Samurai upset the Punjab Aces 4-3 but could not qualify on a count back of the holes won differential after they were tied on points and the number of wins with Empire. They came within two holes of taking half a point required to inch their way in however leaderboard pressure proved too much in the end.

Fairway Comets had a sniff of a chance to make it but Sultans of Swing, who were already knocked out, played for their pride and didn't make it easy for their opponents. They eventually only managed to square the match after needing 5 points to make it without any ties or countbacks.

Signature by KLV bounced back after last round's humbling and beat Partee Panthers 4-3 in a dead rubber as both teams suffered reverses which led to them exiting the tournament at the round robin stage like 10 others.

Top seeds Netsmartz Tigers will play Empire in the first quarter final on Wednesday followed by Hunting Hawks taking on Punjab Aces with the winners meeting each other in the semi finals. In the other half of the draw, Captain's 18 will take on Green Gators while Canam Raptors will face Chandigarh Gladiators in the final quarter final.
