A student of Sri Chaitanya institute, Pranav Goyal tops Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced; scores 337 out of 360

The much-awaited result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced reaped sweet fruits for Chandigarh’s boy, Pranav Goyal who secured All India Rank-1 (AIR-1), with a score of 337 out of 360. A student of the coveted Sri Chaitanya Institute, Pranav owes his success to his mentors & his parents.

From Chandigarh centre of Sri Chaitanya Institute while Pranav Goyal got AIR 1 others among top 100 rankers are Tarush Goyal AIR-16 and Aneesh Garg AIR-52.
While sharing his success mantra, Pranav said, “If you focus well, your study hours won’t really matter. So, just stay focused and calm. Have faith in your teachers and their guidance, and always ensure that your knowledge is conceptually sound.”
He added, “Solving the previous year papers helped me a lot in getting an insight into the pattern of the examination.”
An alumnus of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, Pranav was also the tricity topper in CBSE Board with 97.2% and scored an All India Rank-4 in JEE Mains.
“In the initial months, Pranav used to struggle like any other kid. However, he eventually grasped the different aspects of learning Physics, with his sound intuition regarding understanding the subject matter,” informed his Physics faculty, Mr. Amarnath.
His Chemistry professor, Mr. Animesh said, “Chemistry was one of his strongest subjects among all. He focused on all the concepts of chemistry, rather than just memorizing the reactions. He has a clear conceptual clarity for physical chemistry and understanding of mechanism of reactions, which helped him, go a long way. He daily devoted at least one hour studying NCERT, especially for chemistry.”
Initially Pranav found it arduous for coping up with Mathematics, however, he was always open to learning new concepts. “Pranav is a humble kid. Initially, just like other students, he found difficulty in Mathematics. But we always ensure that our students at Sri Chaitanya adjust to the rigors of JEE preparation and similar was the case with Pranav. Being a cherubic student, Pranav handled the pressure calmly, which helped him attain accuracy and a fair understanding of all the subjects.  In class 11th, he cleared INMO (AIR 5) and we could clearly see that his approach towards exams got better with each passing day. The fierce competition in the batch pumped him to push harder. He cleared Physics, Astro and Chemistry Olympiads (AIR 2) in class 12th and his confidence grew. He always ensured that he neither overestimated nor underestimated himself. With his balanced approach, he came up trumps in both JEE Mains with all India highest total marks (AIR 4) and JEE Advanced (AIR 1),” said Mr. Mrinal, Centre Director & Mathematics Faculty, Sri Chaitanya Chandigarh.
Rejoicing over Pranav’s success, his father said, “My son has always been a topper and has worked very hard for the past two years to achieve this rank. We are very happy with his performance.”

“My son has proved that with hard work, anybody can reach the top of the sky. I am really proud of Pranav,” added his mother.

Pranav is a Kishore Vaigyanika Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) scholar, National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholar, Indian National Mathematical Olympiad scholar, Indian National Chemistry Olympiad scholar, Indian National Physics Olympiad scholar, and Indian National Astronomy Olympiad scholar.

18-yr old Allen Chandigarh student defies all odds; Bags AIR-10 in JEE Advanced

Neel Aryan Gupta, an 18 yr. old Chandigarh student of Allen Career Institute, secured AIR-10 in JEE Advanced 2018 after first having secured AIR-182 in JEE Mains.
Afflicted with an ailment that required surgery, this young boy still managed to focus on his studies and crack the JEE. Needless to say, the young boy came out with flying colours today when he secured AIR-10 in JEE Advanced 2018.
It was during the tenure of his preparation that Neel developed a serious medical condition. When examined, the doctors at PGI Chandigarh put him on conservative medicine although his medical condition required immediate surgery. This happened merely a few days before the JEE-Main exam which was held on April 8 this year. Showing unparalleled commitment, the young boy decided to brave the worst and postpone his surgery, so he wouldn’t have to deflect from the cause that he had tirelessly been working on for the past many years. “I was in severe pain, but cracking JEE Mains was much more important than my pain. So, I decided to bear it,” he said. Despite the odds stacked against him, Neel took heavy doses of painkillers, so he could continue to study for nearly 10 hours every day regardless of his condition. Amid these circumstances, Neel Aryan went on to bag AIR-182 in JEE Mains.
It was after having appeared in this examination that Neel Aryan finally underwent the said surgery on April 16 this year. The procedure impeded him from being able to sit and study thereafter, but Neel was not one to be disheartened. He never allowed any hiatus to fall amid his studies and took up studying while lying down owing to his medical condition. His hard work and sacrifice has paid off today when he secured the sterling rank of AIR-10 in the prestigious JEE-Advanced exam.
The result of this attitude can be seen in his achievements: From securing CGPA 10 in 10th standard to scoring 93.2% marks in the 12th standard recently. He secured AIR-21 in Kishore VaigyanikProtsahan Yojana (KVPY), selected for ICHO, INAO & qualified for RMO, AIR-182 in JEE Mains 2018 and now AIR-10 in JEE Advanced 2018.
The Centre Head of ALLEN, Mr. Pushkar Rai, who is also an expert in Chemistry and was the mentor of Neel Aryan while he studied in the institute, revealed that Neel Aryan was a very sincere and obedient student who diligently followed all the instructions given to him in letter and spirit. He was a keen observer and has tremendous interest in conceptual thinking, never wanting to indulge in rote learning. Even in the most archetypical situations, he prefers rational thinking over mugging up and this was his key to success.
