NSS units of Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36–B Chandigarh in collaboration with Eye Donation Club of the college, organized an informative session aimed at increasing awareness about the need for eye donation. The event was a part of the 'Eye donation Fortnight Celebrations' currently being held till September 8, 2018.
A team from advanced eye center PGIMER comprising of Dr. Atul Gautam (Manager Eye Bank), Dr. Samreen Khanam (Senior Resident, Department of Ophthalmology) and Sh. Amritpal Singh (Medical Social Worker) were invited to deliver the informative talk .
The aim of the session was to promote eye donation. The Principal of the College Dr. (Mrs.) Agnese Dhillon gave a floral welcome to the team of doctors and motivated the students to come forward for Eye donation and make their eyes perennial.
The faculty and the students were truly motivated which resulted in 1 teacher and 13 students taking the pledge to donate their eyes. On this occasion poster making and slogan writing competitions were also held and the winners were awarded with certificates. Dr. Anuradha Agnihotri , Incharge Eye Donation Club presented a vote of thanks. The Principal of the college congratulated Dr. Anuradha Agnihotri , Dr.Neeru Malik and Ms. Rajbir Kaur, NSS Programme officers for successfully organizing the session
