Gillco International School Mohali organized a Workshop on “Thinking beyond Engineering” on  26th August which witnessed a magnificent response with more than 130  students from grades 9th to 12th participating in the Workshop . Chandigarh 30 Aug 2022 The grand finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) held at  Chitkara University  in collaboration with Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India concluded today. Chitkara University was selected as the nodal centre for this 5-day long Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 Hardware Edition. SIH is a nationwide initiative by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell to provide students a platform to solve the pressing problems of the government, ministries, departments, industries and other organizations. As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education identified 75 higher educational institutes as nodal centers to host the SIH.   Hartek Solar Private Limited, One of India’s Top 10 roof top solar company has completed the setting up of a 50 KW solar power plant at Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Mohali, the most renowned educational institution in Chandigarh Tricity.  The project was an add-on to the already existing solar plant of 100KW, taking the total renewable energy capacity of the institution to 150 KW.   The entire plant has been built with mono-perc technology and is said to be one of the largest installations of solar in the Northern Region schools. The project will collectively generate over 2 lakh units of clean electricity saving electricity costs of over 20 lakh INR every year. Jasleen Kaur of Class IX and Gurnoor Kaur of Class III participated in Asia Pacific Dance Championship held in Dubai  in several categories. It was organised by Y&Y events. The four-day grand event saw participation from various talented Indian and UAE artists. Amid tough competition, Gurnoor Kaur emerged as 2nd RUNNER UP in the 7 to 9 years (SOLO) Category.
