Chandigarh, March 6: Punjabi singer and actor Parmish Verma on Sunday flagged-off a 'Cyclothon' at Sukhna Lake which was organized by Ivy Hospital, Mohali in association with Cycleworx. Over 125 cyclists participated in the 'Cyclothon' which aimed to spread awareness on kidney health to mark World Kidney Day which is on March 10.
Among others, Dr Raka Kaushal, director of nephrology and kidney transplant department, Dr. Avinash Srivastava, director urology and renal transplant surgery and Dr Abhishek Garg from Ivy also took part in 'Cyclothon' .
Speaking during the occasion, Dr Raka said that healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle is the key to keeping kidney disease at bay. Cycling is one such exercise that can help to maintain a healthy life. Through this 'Cyclothon', we propagate and urge all to take care of their kidneys, she asserted.
Meanwhile Friends Baker was also part of this event and prepared special Beetroot sandwiches and Healthy Atta muffins for all the participants. The event was organized in collaboration with the Metropolis events team.
