Punjab Fashion League’s first auditions were held at Homeland heights sector 70 mohali.

Punjab fashion league is the grand fashion show that is going to organise Grand Finale in Radisson blu, Amritsar on 1 February 2020.Basically the show is divided into two segments, First, providing a premium platform for aspiring young models.
Secondly, providing a premium platform for designers who are looking to display their latest designs on ramp. Celebrities such as Rohit  Khandelwal(crowned Mr. World),  Will be there to mentor the contestants. Auditions of the show are already scheduled for whole punjab as in Jalandher, Ludhiana Pathankot and Amritsar. According to Organizer Sangeeta Luthra this show will help many contestants to achieve their dreams in modeling field

The Chandigarh auditions were judged by eminent personalities from their respective fields,Like Mr. Sachin Arora( Satyam Jewellers Amritsar), Mrs Milli Garg ( Allora Mrs India 2019) and Mrs Manpreet Walia. The contestants were asked to showcase their walk,alongwith their talent. Some of them were asked questions too. SBI Admin Office Mohali celebrated its 2nd anniversary of Yono App

SBI Admin Office Mohali celebrated its 2^nd anniversary of Yono App by organizing a Cyclothon at Mohali on 01.12.2019. More than 300 Cycle enthusiasts participated in the 10 Km long early morning cycle rally which started from SBI office in Sect-68 to Airport roundabout and back. The rally was flagged off by SBI General Manager Sh. Rajeev Arora, DGM Mohali Sh. Sukhbir Singh Birdi and DGM LHO Smt Cynthia Noronha.

The event was jointly supported by Ivy Hospital Mohali, whose ambulance escorted the participants for any medical emergency enroute and also by CYCLEGIRI Group, which is constantly trying to promote Cycling amongst the residents of tricity, as an alternative to cars and two wheelers. Phirki Cycle store provided the cycle servicing support for the participants while Jogfitness gym arranged for the initial warm up session with Zumba and Bhangra.

After the cycle rally, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Principal Consultant Internal Medicine at Ivy Hospital & Dr Sunaina Bansal gave a health talk to the participants and applauded the efforts of SBI in generating health awareness amongst the residents. Regional Manager Sh. Sumit Roy explained the benefits of YONO Mobile app to the participants and asked them to use it as an alternative to ATM Card for cash withdrawal. He also thanked the Mohali administration for providing police escort & support in the route which helped in successful conclusion of the event.

“SBI Organises Town Hall Customer Meet Across The Country

Chandigarh: 22.11.2019: State Bank of India, country's largest Bank organized Town Hall Meeting all over India, across more than 500 centres on 22nd of November 2019 to understand customers’ grievance and enhance service. It was an open invitation for customers to participate in the meeting and share their experiences and expectations from SBI which would help the bank to further enhance and improve its customer service.
In a nationwide move to hold Mega Customer Meet, Chandigarh Circle also participated actively and organised Town Hall Meeting at 37 Centers across the Circle including Punjab, Haryana, H.P., Jammu &Kashmir and Chandigarh. At Chandigarh Centre, this meeting was held in P.L. Auditorium of Panjab University and in Hotel Sahil at Ropar. Sh. Rajeev Arora, General Manager (NW-1), addressed the gathering in Ropar and Sh. Sanjay Kumar, DGM (CM&CS) addressed the audience in Chandigarh. In their address, the Bank officials said that the Bank is committed to achieve excellence in customer service. Punjab Governor inaugurates 75th Platinum Jubilee of the All India Textile Conference at Chandigarh

The Governor of Punjab and administrator Chandigarh, H.E. Shri V.P. Singh Badnore on Friday inaugurated the 75th Platinum Jubilee of the All India Textile Conference organized by The Textile Association (India) PHC Unit Chandigarh at Hotel 'The Lalit', Chandigarh. The governor lit the lamp in presence of Guest of Honour, Mr.Ashish Bagrodia, the president of TAI (PHC), Mr. L.K Singh, Conference Chairman, Mr. S.N. Sodhi, Mr. Rajeev Garg, Mr. Mukesh Tyagi and Hon Secretary TAI (PHC), Mr. Satish Marwah and other delegates.

       In his address the Governor hailed the efforts of the organizer Chandigarh unit for its efforts to assemble the share holders of textile industry from all over country under one roof to discuss the future of textile industry in particular and India in whole. He also congratulated the delegates and organizers on the auspicious week of celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

      Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that India is on the helm of being a world leader in economy in years to come and textile industry can play an important and crucial role in this regard as TAI is the largest business body of country providing 110 Million jobs to the people of India. He said that Indian textile industry has the capacity to grow on the faster pace due to present business environment throughout world and moreover the domestic market is growing at a healthy rate. 

               Talking about the contribution of Punjab state in the field of textile, the governor said that Punjab produces 65% of the total textile production of India and 95% of woolen textile in particular. "For the purpose of research and designing in textile, Punjab has set up Research and Fashion center at Mohali and Government School of Knitting at Amritsar and both the centers are doing well to provide new techniques in the textile industry." He added.

        Inviting the stakeholders of industry to come together to resolve the issues and challanges being faced by industry he said the new ideas and technology can make a diffrence in the field. He also invited the industrialists to invest in the state as Punjab has a great potential to grow in the field.

Gurupurab Celebration : 550 Kilo Cake prepared at Gurdwara Sahib, Sector 19, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 12 November, 2019:

A 550 kg cake was prepared for Gurupurab Celebration at Gurdwara Sahib, Sector 19, Chandigarh here today. It was prepared by National Bakers, which has outlets in Chandigarh and Zirakpur. Around 15 cooks prepared the cake in two days to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji.   

The Guest of Honour of the cake cutting programme was Famous Punjabi singer Sukhshinder Shinda Ji.

Mr Sanjay Tandon, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chandigarh and the star radio jockey of the city RJ Meenakshi also graced the occasion.

As part of Bank’s CSR initiatives, Shri Rajnish Kumar also donated an ambulance to PGIMER Chandigarh for their Extension Block of Nehru Hospital in the presence of Shri Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, CGM Chandigarh Circle, SBI and Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER Chandigarh.

Sh. Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, “We at SBI keep customers in the centre in everything we do and always endeavour to provide access to customers with better and convenient banking and financial services at every place, be in the proximity of their residence, place of work, study, cantonments and even in hospitals. The new e-Lobby at Nehru Hospital Extension Block is a testament to this commitment. With the new e-Lobby, we believe patients and their families get hassle-free access to all their financial needs and requirements at the hospital itself without the worry of finding banks and ATMs outdoor. This is also a step closer to our commitment towards Hon’ble PM’s vision of a digital and green India”.

He further added, “The bank is committed to well-being of the society in every possible way. I think PGIMER deserves a special mention for providing advanced and best medical practices to its patients coming from various parts of the country. The Ambulance is a small contribution from SBI for PGIMER patients’ safety and wellbeing”. 

While thanking SBI for this donation, Prof. Jagat Ram said, “This ambulance will be of great help for the patients who are required to move from the Extension Block to Old Nehru Hospital for emergency & ICU services, radio diagnostics and other tests on a regular basis”.  Prof. Jagat Ram also appreciated the excellent and personalized customer service being extended by the State Bank of India and its staff members.

During his visit to Chandigarh, Shri Kumar also inaugurated Bank’s new premises of Administrative Office in Sector-68, Mohali which covers 13 districts of Punjab through 6 RBOs located at Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Patiala and Bhatinda.  The rest of Punjab is covered by Bank’s Administrative Office in Ludhiana.  Shri Kumar also inaugurated a Heritage gallery at its Local Head Office wherein the over 200 years journey of the Bank from inception to date is depicted by means of photographs and a few antiques collected from various old branches of the Bank situated in the Circle. 

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY (Pre-Nursery to KG) Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38-D, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, November, 9^th 2019, Saturday, Around 300 students of Little Hearts, Pre-Primary Wing of Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38-D, Chandigarh participated in Annual Sports Day that concluded today at Sports complex, Sector-7, Chandigarh. The guests were greeted with a welcome song & release of colourful balloons. The audience were treated to an excellent show of flower and butterfly dance by little angels of classes Pre-Nursery. The students of class Pre-Nursery presented a colourful monkeynastic Drill. The young performers exhibited their skill through Run, Pick & Run Race, Zig Zag & Roll, Turn Twist Run & Cross the river. The parents also enthusiastically took part in fun games much to the delight of everyone. The programme concluded with the Vibrant Bhangra performance by the students of class KG.The winners were awarded medals and prizes. Principal, Mrs. Harpreet Kaur thanked the parents for their whole hearted participation in school events.

‘Over 9.8 million teenagers suffer from depression and other mental health disorders’

Three-day 15^th Biennial National Conference of Indian Association of Child & Adolescent Mental Health takes off at GMCH

Chandigarh, November 8, 2019: “There are more than 434 million children and adolescents in India which is the highest in the world. National Mental Health Survey 2015-16 , conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, under the purview of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, reveals that 9.8 million teenagers in the age group 13-17 years suffer depression and other mental health disorders”, said Dr. B.S. Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH, and Head Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32 here.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of three-day 15^th Biennial National Conference of Indian Association of Child & Adolescent Mental Health being organised by Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, The conference was inaugurated by MP, Kirron Kher at GMCH here today. The theme of the conference is “Child & Adolescent Mental Health:  From intervention to prevention’’.

The organizing chairperson of the conference, Prof. B.S. Chavan reflected that considering that scarcity of specialized psychiatrists in the field of child and adolescent mental health, this conference would be a great learning opportunity specially to the students.

In her inaugural address Kher emphasized this event as a timely initiative as mental health is one of the most pertinent issues that require our attention today.

Mrs Kirron Kher, MP Chandigarh emphasised that the children who are the future of our nation need special care and attention. The extreme degree of stress and strain arising out of competition is hampering their natural growth. She further said that India has the highest number of adolescents and children in the world and thus there is larger responsibility of the policy makers, teachers, parents and mental health professionals to give them special attention.

The Secretary General, IACAM Prof. Vivek Aggarwal re-iterated upon the theme of the conference highlighting the role of preventive approaches to decrease the prevalence of mental health problems.

Organizing Secretary, Prof Priti Arun said this conference was a landmark event that propels the concerted efforts at local as well as national level in the field of child and adolescent mental health. The conference which is being attended by around 250 delegates shall benefit both mental health and other professionals including  counsellors, school teachers along with parents to equip them with knowledge and skills for positive mental health of children & adolescents.

The first day of this academic feast was marked by a CME on ‘Digital world and developing brain: the risks & benefit’ followed by various symposiums and workshops. Dr. Shekhar Seshadri, Professor from NIMHANS Bangalore and Prof Rajesh from AIIMS New Delhi were the speakers for the symposium. Dr Adarsh Kohli, President of IACAM stated that large of number of childhood disorders can be managed without medications provided these are detected early.

A special hands on training workshop on Parenting skill training intervention for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which was highly appreciated while symposium on ‘Behavioural addiction & evolving epidemic’ was   another enlightening deliberation by the experts working in the field.

 श्री त्यागी की यात्रा पर, पीएनबी सर्कल कार्यालय और आंचलिक कार्यालय ने चंडीगढ़ के गवर्नमेंट होम साइंस कॉलेज सेक्टर 10 में छात्रों द्वारा सतर्कता जागरूकता पर उद्घोषणा प्रतियोगिता, कविता और क्विज प्रतियोगिता सहित कई समारोह आयोजित किए।  पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय के छात्रों द्वारा एक नुक्कड़ नाटक किया गया।

 कॉलेज के ऑडिटोरियम हॉल में दर्शकों को संबोधित करते हुए। श्री विजय कुमार त्यागी ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि यदि सभी सरकारी कर्मचारी देश के लिए अपने संबंधित डोमेन में पूर्ण समर्पण और निष्ठा के साथ काम करते हैं तो यह देश की प्रगति के लिए वास्तव में सही योगदान होगा।  यह समाज में प्रगति का एकमात्र तरीका है।
 उन्होंने कहा कि भ्रष्टाचार को मिटाने के लिए, सरकारी और निजी क्षेत्र सहित लोगों और संस्थानों को लगातार मिलकर काम करने की आवश्यकता है।
 श्री त्यागी ने कॉलेज के छात्रों से लाला लाजपत राय, सरदार भगत सिंह, नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस, राष्ट्र के महात्मा गांधी-पिता और अन्य स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों जैसे राष्ट्र के महान देशभक्तों से मूल्यों को ग्रहण करने का आह्वान किया, जिन्होंने बड़े संघर्ष के बाद  और सर्वोच्च बलिदान, देश को स्वतंत्रता प्रदान की।  इन देशभक्तों की सबसे बड़ी इच्छा थी कि देश के सभी नागरिकों को समान लोकतांत्रिक अधिकार प्राप्त हों और उन्हें गरीबी और दुख के बिना उचित आजीविका अर्जित करनी चाहिए।  उन्होंने पीएनबी की सेवा करने के लिए समारोह में उपस्थित PNBians से भी आह्वान किया, जिसमें पूरे समर्पण, ईमानदारी, निष्ठा और भय के साथ देश के उत्तरी भाग में सबसे बड़ी उपस्थिति है।
 श्री त्यागी ने पीएनबी जोनल ऑफिस चंडीगढ़ में पीएनबी के सभी अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को संबोधित किया और बैंकिंग से जुड़े विभिन्न मुद्दों पर चर्चा की।
