Chandigarh, October 03, 2019 (Thursday), An interactive awareness session on single use plastic Pollution” was organized by Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector-38D, Chandigarh for the students of classes X to XII on 3rd October,2019. The session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Kainth, (Rtd.) IIT Kanpur. He spoke on the ill effects of plastics and non-biodegradable products on our eco-system. He shared various eco-friendly alternatives with students. He emphasized the use of glass bowls instead of plastic bowls, increasing the use of earthen pots and more usage of cloth bags. He also urged everyone to look for the ways that can help in recycling the use of the plastics instead of dumping or burning them and to be more responsible towards the cleaner and greener environment. It was followed by a question answer session. The session was found to be interesting and enriching by the young learners.
