Anviksha 2024: NMIMS Chandigarh's Techfest Showcases Innovation and Creativity


Chandigarh, 17 September 2024: NMIMS Chandigarh’s School of Technology Management & Engineering recently concluded its first annual tech fest, Anviksha 2024, a celebration of innovation, competition, and creativity. The event drew participants from 35 prominent institutions, including Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) New Delhi, Amity University, Chitkara University, NIT Raipur, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Delhi Technological University (DTU), and Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
Reflecting on the success of Anviksha 2024, Chief Guest Mr. Rajeev Allawadi, AGM at Bharat Electronics Chandigarh said “Anviksha is not just about competition; it's about inspiring young minds to think differently. Success is not the ultimate goal but a relative concept. It's the mindset that counts.” Mr. Allawadi, with over 33 years of experience, also conducted an engaging activity to encourage mindset changes among the participants. 
Dr. Prashant Kumar, Special Guest Principal Scientist at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), praised Anviksha as an excellent platform for innovation. He discussed the growing importance of AI and the need for cross-disciplinary studies, emphasizing how fields like Computer Science and Engineering are becoming increasingly agile and collaborative. Guest of Honor Dr. Sanjay Sood, Associate Director at C-DAC Mohali and Project Director of eSanjeevani (National Telemedicine Service), also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the role of technology in transforming healthcare and other critical sectors.
Dr. Jyotsna, Associate Dean at STME, NMIMS Chandigarh, expressed optimism about the event’s future: “Just as Kshitij started as a spark and became a beacon of technical excellence, Anviksha holds the potential to become a defining event in the landscape of technical fests. Our students have demonstrated not only their technical skills but also their ability to innovate and collaborate; qualities that will take this fest to new heights in the years to come.”
Anviksha 2024 featured a range of competitions, with CODEFIESTA 2.0 emerging as a highlight. In this coding contest, Team 20, led by Hardik Tiwari, clinched first prize for their impressive programming skills. Another popular event, MindCraft, focused on 3D modeling and printing, saw the team Tech Titan (Arya Srivastava and Sanyam) emerge victorious, demonstrating innovative designs judged by industry experts.
Digital art and cybersecurity enthusiasts competed in Cyber Canvas, where Team 2, composed of Harkirat and Aarushi, took home the top prize for their creative digital art project. The Esports Arena also witnessed intense action, with participants competing in titles like FIFA, Call of Duty, and League of Legends. Team Invincibles (Parth Raj, Rakshit Monga) secured first place in FIFA, while Hartaj Singh triumphed in Tekken 8.
With an exciting day of challenges and creativity, Anviksha 2024 has set a solid foundation for future editions, cementing NMIMS Chandigarh’s role in promoting technical innovation among students. The event concluded with an awards ceremony to honor the winners, leaving participants eager for next year’s edition.
