United Sikhs Punjab unit hails the volunteers serving in Ukraine

Chandigarh, March 29, 2022

The volunteers of United Sikhs organization are doing a great humanitarian service at the war torn Ukraine borders. They also evacuated the Sanchia (religious scriptures) and Gutke (sacred prayer tablets) from the Odessa Gurdwara Sahib in Ukraine. The holy scriptures are being respectfully brought into the UK, where they will be received by the Sangat and then taken to the National Sikh Museum in Derby, UK.

This virtuous seva was critical as the residents of Odessa had been preparing to defend the city from an imminent attack after the siege of Mariupol nearby. This sewa was made successful by the joint efforts of United Sikhs, Sikh Defense Network UK, Sikh Dharma International. 

“We are overjoyed that Guruji provided the blessing of retrieving the Sanchia at such a difficult time,” said Simran Singh, Global Affairs Advisor of Sikh Dharma International, adding that “Coordinating on the ground with United Sikhs and the UK Sikh Defense Network in this mission was a game changer and it is together that the panth is the strongest. Now, our focus must remain on the humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine, where millions of people are in extreme duress, where food is in short supply, and where countless refugees are hiding.” 

Gurpal Singh of United Sikhs said in a joint statement that the organization is currently running convoys into Ukraine to evacuate Sikh and Hindu students; feeding thousands of refugees on the entire sangat’s behalf through a food truck, and is available to any person needing help. United Sikhs has been involved in serving the emergency needs of refugees escaping the destruction of their country.

ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਸ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਟਵਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ, ਫਲੈਟਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੋਠੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਐਸ਼ੋਸ਼ੀਏਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੁੰਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਦਾ ਬੁੱਕੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ ਵੱਡੇ ਇਕੱਠ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਏਨੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿਵਾਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲ਼ਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਆਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸੈਕਟਰ 79 ਵਿਖੇ ਦਫਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵੈਲਫੇਅਰ ਐਸ਼ੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ, ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਲੋਂਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਹਾਲਤ ‘ਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਗਾਉਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। 

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੇ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਸ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਟਵਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ. ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰਵਾਦ ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਗੁੰਡਾਗਰਦੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ. ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ 10 ਸਾਲ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ‘ਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਕਾਰ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਸਲੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ  ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਟੌਰ ਤੇ ਐਮ ਆਈ ਜੀ ਸੁਪਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਲਗਦੇ ਖਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ, ਜੋ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਥੇ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਐਲ ਆਈ ਜੀ ਤੇ ਐਮ ਆਈ ਜੀ ਸੁਪਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਲਾਟ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਪਾਰਕ ਜਾਂ ਡਿਸਪੈਂਸਰੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੇ ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਐਰੋਸਿਟੀ ਰੋਡ ਉੱਪਰ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਕੂਹਣੀ ਮੋੜ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਹਲਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਨੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕੌਂਸਲਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਆਰਪੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਸ੍. ਹਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

Silver Fern Education Consultants partners with St. John's High School for their initiative, ECONATION

Chandigarh, Mar 27,2022 .Silver Fern Education Consultants, an overseas education consultancy has come up with an initiative - ECONATION, in association with St. John’s High School, Chandigarh. Under this , a waste paper recycling machine has been installed inside the premises of St. John’s High School. 

"We have joined hands with the school to provide the students with a platform to create something new, which is useful and even profitable. The waste paper recycling machine installed in the school will be used to convert leftover sheets into fresh paper. This fresh paper can be used to manufacture products like notebooks, drawing books, exam sheets, magazine sheets, etc. This project will not only teach students how to manage a business and earn revenue but will also provide them with an opportunity to give back to the society as this is an ecofriendly project," said Shivam Garg,COO of Silver Fern.

This project  was planned and structured under the guidance of  Mrs. Kavita Das , Principal of St. John’s High School. It was inaugurated by Mr. Kshitij Bhatia, Regional Manager, University of Essex, United Kingdom. 

This initiative has been  designed as a Business Project solely for the students of class 11th and 12th of St. John's High School. 2nd edition of Haryana MSME SAMVAAD on May 21, 2022

Chandigarh, March 27, 2022: Leading industrial body ASSOCHAM will play a proactive role in partnership with the state governments to accelerate the pace of economic development of the northern region comprising Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UTs of Chandigarh, J&K and Ladakh. A decision to this effect was taken at the first meeting of the North Region Development Council (NRDC) held here at Hotel Hyatt on Saturday.

 

“The meeting has unanimously decided that ASSOCHAM should play a proactive role in the north region’s accelerated economic development. We will soon share our blueprint with the respective state government to decide the future course of action. As Covid-19 pandemic has paused and almost controlled thanks to massive vaccination drive, we need to focus on reviving the economy,” said Amrit Sagar Mittal, Chairman, ASSOCHAM,  NRDC, and Vice Chairman, International Tractors Ltd, while interacting with media persons.

 

Mittal said that one district, one product (ODOP), farm tourism and small enterprises are the areas of focus as we engage ourselves in the build back process in the new normal. 

 

“ODOP aims at identifying an exclusive product or service from a district and promoting that so that small enterprises which are the backbone of the economy get benefited and are not sidelined. We will also work on removal of bottlenecks in freight movement as the region is a landlocked one and the major transportation of goods  is via the land route. Issues need to be addressed here,” added  Mittal.

 

Kulwin Seehra, Chairman, Punjab State Development Council & North Regional Council for MSMEs Development, ASSOCHAM and Executive Director, GNA Group, said that MSMEs have a special place in the economy of the region and that of the country. “MSMEs were hit hard during Covid-19 pandemic and due to disruptions caused by lockdowns. They have been provided several incentives but a lot still needs to be done. We will act as a fulcrum between MSMEs and the governments so that glitches and concerns are well addressed in larger interests of the region’s economy,” added Seehra.

 

Vijay Sharma, Chairman, Haryana State Development Council and Director, Jindal Stainless, said that today’s meeting laid a special emphasis on ASSOCHAM becoming an active partner with the governments of States and UTs to give a fillip to the region’s industry and economy. “In partnership with them, we will organize events, seminars, webinars, trade fairs, B2B and B2C meetings to increase the business potential in different States and UTs. I am happy that the 2nd edition of Haryana MSME SAMVAAD is being held on May 21 in person’’he said.

 

Manik Batra, Chairman, J&K Council said, "With the launch of the New Central Sector Scheme, J&K is emerging as the new hub for investment, we are focusing on getting more investment in Jammu and Kashmir,  which will not only boost the economy of the UT, but will also generate employment for the youth of J&K," 

 

Jitender Sodhi, Chairman, HP state Development Council said that ASSOCHAM will also help the governments in promoting policies related to trade and industry and apprise them about the problems being faced by the industries. “In the meeting, we discussed a whole lot of issues including policy advocacy matters, schemes of Central and state governments to promote industries, labour welfare, education of their children, safety of women at work place,” he said.

 

Talking about the action plan for the year 2022, Vivek Atray, Chairman, North Regional Council for Policy Advocacy and former Director, Industries, Government of Haryana, said that the past couple of years were quite tough and hence most of activities were organized online but during the current year, a number of high-end activities are lined up. “The idea is to galvanize ourselves and other stakeholders to infuse new vigour and momentum in the economy of the region,” he said.

WILL DESHO AND AJOONI BE ABLE TO SAVE THEIR MARRIAGES?

|Ahead of the coming week, Zee Punjabi is about to deliver some interesting twists and turns in the lives of beloved ‘Nuhs’ from audiences' favourite ongoing shows ‘Choti Jathani’ & ‘Khasma Nu Khani’.

The fans will see their favourite Desho come back from coma and plead with Karam to let her go back to her home. Whereas Karam’s brother and Sister-in-law prepare for his wedding and find Desho as his perfect match.  However, Karam makes them understand that it’s not possible and tries to convince them to not bother Desho anymore. He then, on Desho’s request, takes her back to her home where she is left in shock when she sees Minnie and her husband Ranveer together sitting in the ‘Pooja’ organised for their newborn child and are married.

On the other hand, in Choti Jathani, Ajooni comes to know about Ashnoor’s plans and Zoravar refuses to believe Ajooni and denies accepting her as her wife. She then decides to make Zoravar remember his past. To achieve this, she kidnaps Zorawar and takes him to a  jungle but things don’t go as planned.

Now it will be interesting to see how these two will tackle the challenges life has brought upon them. Also, it will be exciting to watch what Desho and ajooni’s next step would be. Will Desho distance herself from Ranveer? _On the other side, what will Ajooni do next to make her husband Zorawar remember everything? FinMapp acquires PFRDA & IRDAI licenses to boost its financial growth

National: Financial services providing company, FinMapp, announced that the company has received a POP-SE license from Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

FinMapp has also acquired a registration certificate, recognizing it as a Corporate Agent from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

The licenses will aid the company in selling insurance and NPS products to its customers as a verified seller and help expand its customer base. 

FinMapp will also be launching the NPS product as an investment tool on the app in the coming future.

TDI organizes Women’s Day Special event; shares success stories of TDI women

TDI Group, one of the principal real estate companies, organized a special event, named ‘TDI’s Super Women’ to acknowledge and honour the hard work of TDI women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The company came up with the idea of sharing the success stories of 6 women from TDI Group, which could be members of office staff, security and residents on their social media. The grand spectacle event, held on 8th March was put in place at TDI House, Sector 119 within the premises to celebrate these women and their accomplishments. 

All female achievers were welcomed at the event in a genteel manner. They were awarded a gift hamper by Mr. Vimal Monga and Mr. Rohit  Gogia. All the women in attendance knelled at the efforts made by the organizing team.

Kidney Health: Hundreds take part in 'Cyclothon' at Sukhna LakeChandigarh,

Chandigarh, March 6: Punjabi singer and actor Parmish Verma on Sunday flagged-off a 'Cyclothon' at Sukhna Lake which was organized by Ivy Hospital, Mohali in association with Cycleworx. Over 125 cyclists participated in the 'Cyclothon' which aimed to spread awareness on kidney health to mark World Kidney Day which is on March 10.

Among others, Dr Raka Kaushal, director of nephrology and kidney transplant department, Dr. Avinash Srivastava, director urology and renal transplant surgery and Dr Abhishek Garg from Ivy also took part in 'Cyclothon' .

Speaking during the occasion, Dr Raka said that healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle is the key to keeping kidney disease at bay. Cycling is one such exercise that can help to maintain a healthy life. Through this 'Cyclothon', we propagate and urge all to take care of their kidneys, she asserted.

Meanwhile Friends Baker was also part of this event and prepared special Beetroot sandwiches and Healthy Atta muffins for all the participants. The event was organized in collaboration with the Metropolis events team.

Harley Owner Group Bikers Night rumbled back into Chandigarh's famous party spot "Pyramid" last friday. It’s the first Bike Night since February 2020 — right before the pandemic shut down everything in India.

Pyramid recently joined hands with Harley Davidson to host their HOG ride meetups in the North region where-in the riders met, greeted and shared their experiences with each other. "100s of Harley motorcyclists joined the annual meet and had a great time at Pyramid while celebrating Harley's

 heritage, spending time with fellow riders and enjoying freedom of two wheels" said Mr. Prince Kapoor (Director HOG, Chandigarh Chapter).

The annual meet of HOG's Ludhiana and Chandigarh chapter was organized at Pyramid, Barnala last week followed by a Harley's Bikers night at Pyramid, Chandigarh last friday.
