At a time when the country’s unemployment levels are at an all time high, Capt. Amrinder Singh led Punjab Government has announced a State Employment Plan 2020-22. On completing 3 years of governance, Hon’ble CM has approved a phased and time-bound Plan of providing 1 lakh govt jobs for Punjab’s youth, in different departments before 2022.
Fullfiling his promise of ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ from the poll manifesto, Punjab CM has once again proved that he is a man of his words. It is noteworthy that Punjab Govt. has already provided 13.60 lakh jobs in public and privates sectors in Punjab.
“This move comes as a major relief for the youth of Punjab, who have lost their jobs or are on the verge of losing jobs or haven’t been able to find a job at all. Today, when the Indian economy is in deep crisis and Central Govt is doing nothing, Punjab Govt has announced 1 lakh govt jobs in coming year. We hail this historic decision and are thankful to CM Capt. Amrinder Singh for providing much needed job opportunities to the youth of Punjab” said Brinder Dhillon, President Punjab Youth Congress
Along with the jobs, in the cabinet meeting Punjab Govt has decided to reserve 33% jobs for women, which again was a poll promise in 2017 elections. The cabinet has also passed a B.R Ambedkar post-metric scholarship for SC students to help them for higher studies.
