Punjabi Cinema is going through its golden period, every Friday many movies are releasing. Filmmakers are trying their best to put forward the stories that are unique and entertaining. One team who is all set to change the scenario of Punjabi cinema is Jatinder Jay Minhas and Rupinderpreet Minhas from Minhas Films.
Their first film ‘Saak’ will be releasing on 6th September 2019. Prior to the release of their first film, they are already with their two films ‘Sarabha-Cry for Freedom’ and ‘Barefoot Warriors’.
All the films are catering completely different genres where Saak will be a romantic love story. Sarabha will be a biopic of freedom fighter Kartar Singh Sarabha. And ‘Barefoot Warriors’ will be a Hollywood film.
If we talk about Minhas films, both Jatinder Jay Minhas and Rupinderpreet Minhas are hailed from Canada. Where Jatinder Jay Minhas is a renowned social worker, and his social services include Eye Hospital in Adampur, Sant Baba Bagh Singh University (SBBSU), where he is serving as International Advisor and Guru Nanak Mission Hospital in Mithapur Jalandhar.
On the other hand, Rupinder Minhas has a keen interest in music, movies, sports, and other cultural activities right from his childhood. In 2015, he launched his own company Minhas Films and Productions in Canada. He sponsored many big events. In 2015, he was a proud/main sponsor of Babbu Mann Show in Toronto which was the super hit show. In 2016, he organized super hit Kailash Kher show in Toronto. Rupinder Minhas is a renowned barrister and solicitor and running his law firm Minhas Lawyers LLP in canada.
Talking about their filmy inning, Jatinder Jay Minhas and Rupinderpreet Minhas said, “We have no filmy background, so entering in this whole new world was not an easy decision. We wanted to showcase the stories that will not be entertaining but will have something to convey for society, we feel so lucky that we got to work on such a wonderful concept. We just wish that we will be able to entertain the audience.”
Their forthcoming film ‘Saak’ stars Mandy Takhar, Jobanpreet Singh, Mukul Dev, Sonpreet Jawanda and Dilawar Sidhu. The story of the film is written by Kamaljit Singh who has also directed it. ‘Saak’ will hit the theatres on 6th September 2019.
