CHANDIGARH: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be organizing the 12th Edition of North India’s largest trade expo known as PITEX-2017 – A 5-day mega event-cum-exhibition, beginning here on 7th of December and to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of State, Capt. Amarinder Singh, in which key functionaries of Punjab’s bureaucracy be present along with their counterpart luminaries in industry from across the country including those of North India in particular.
The event-cum-exhibition is being supported by the Government of Punjab in which there will be participation from larger number of MSMEs from all over India along with industry associations from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, said the President of the PHD Chamber, Mr. Anil Khaitan in a statement issued here.
The PITEX-2017 would have representations not only from host of domestic industrial players but also from multiple overseas countries including India’s immediate and remote neighbours, displaying their industrial skills with productivity during the 5-days, beginning 7th of December and exhibitions and displays of variety of producst would be there for visitors and policy makers as the footfall in such an event each day in the past was estimated, roughly at 50,000.
The special feature of this years’ PITEX-2017 would be that the PHD Chamber and Indian Air Force is organizing a Seminar on Indigenisation of Tools Testers & Ground Equipment on 8th of December whereas a Seminar on Transfer of Technology to Industry is also being organized on 9th of December with the joint collaboration of PHD Chamber and Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO).
The focus areas of the aforesaid seminars would be to discuss and understand in detail the capabilities of MSMEs and sensitizing the local industry with the Air Force requirement for future collaborations. The focus will also be laid to apprise the gathering about the bidding process for category ‘B’ Technologies and procedures for transfer of technology of 142 food technologies which are dual use (spin off) technologies, non-security sensitive in nature and have large commercial potential beyond defence applications.
