Chandigarh: 01 st July 2017: State Bank of India celebrated its Foundation
Day with a series of programmes throughout the country as is being done
every year. At Chandigarh, the Bank Day was celebrated with a get together
of local dignitaries, customers, staff and their families at Tagore theatre,
Sector-18, Chandigarh. Hon’ble Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor,
Haryana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the evening function.
The get together was made memorable with an electrifying performance by
Neeti Mohan, renowned bollywood singer, who regaled the packed auditorium
at Tagore Theatre with Bollywood songs and her hit numbers viz. Tune Mari
Entriyan, Jiya Jiya Re, Kheench Meri Photo and many more. Neeti Mohan
was one of the winners of the Channel V show Popstar and has bagged many
awards including “Best Playback Singer” in Filmfare Awards 2013 and 2017.
At the outset, Sh. Anil Kishora, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle
welcomed Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, Prof. Solanki and other guests. In
his brief address, Sh. Kishora informed the audience that post merger of its
erstwhile Associate Banks (e-ABs) and Bhartiya Mahila Bank (BMB) on
01/04/2017, SBI has become a truly global bank and is one of the top 50
banks of the world. In Chandigarh Circle, which covers four northern states of
Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir besides UT
Chandigarh, the total number of branches post merger stood at 2195 as on
01.04.2017. We are proud of our stature and commitment towards the society.
Hon’ble Governor in his address appreciated the services rendered by SBI to
the country and acknowledged the efforts and initiatives of the bank’s
Chandigarh Circle in improving the socio-economic conditions and financial
inclusion in the region. He impressed upon the staff to keep up the good work
being done by them and wished them all the best in their future endeavours.
Earlier in the day, Shri Anil Kishora CGM Chandigarh Circle administered a
pledge to all the staff members at the Bank’s Local Head Office in Chandigarh
to be prompt in their dealings and make every interaction with customers
