The two-day International 'School Leaders' Conference organized by NISA concludes

The two-day International 'School Leaders' Conference, being held at Hotel Park Plaza, Zirakpur, under the aegis of Federation of Private Schools, Haryana and NISA concluded with great pomp and show. A large number of people from the country and abroad participated in this conference.

NISA President Kulbhushan Sharma said that on the concluding day, all the school leaders resolved to not to leave any stone unturned to make the country's education policy successful and to provide quality education to the children of the state and will improve the shortcomings of their schools by working on the quality charter of Nisha, so that the new National Education Policy could be made successful in collaboration with the government and the country.

He said that discussion on 100 model schools was held during the conference. Hundreds of schools showed interest in 100 model schools and said that we all want to transform their schools into model schools. Kulbhushan Sharma said that now a meeting will be held with all the schools and they will be given information of the format of 100 model schools. Following which selection criteria will be drafted and the schools which will fulfill the eligibility criteria will be made a part of 100 model schools. After this, discussion will be held with many more NGOs and companies to elevate their quality. This model will commence from next year.

He said that this scheme will be provided only to schools and after that this program will run for 3 years. In this, first of all the schools will be assessed and the assessment will be done every year. He said that a monitoring team will also be formed for them, which will monitor and support the school directors to make it successful from time to time. He assured the school directors that within 3 years their schools will be made better and the standard will be elevated, which will prove to be an example before the whole country and show new direction in the field of education. 

At the end of the conference, the school directors expressed their full confidence in NISA and its President Kulbhushan Sharma adding that they were ready to work with NISA and work for the improvement of these 100 schools.

Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev supports Indian Education Board advocates for ‘One Nation One Education’

The two-day 'School Leaders' Summit-2024 started today at Hotel Park Plaza, Zirakpur, Chandigarh under the aegis of Federation of Private Schools, Haryana and NISA. World renowned yoga guru and spiritual guide Swami Ramdev attended the program as the chief guest. He expressed his views on the innovative revolution in education and the steps required to make the New Education Policy (NEP) successful. On the occasion NISA President Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma and Executive Director (former) IAS Nagendra Prasad Singh of the Indian Education Board were also present with him.

While addressing the journalists, Swami Ramdev, while talking about promoting the Indian Education Board, emphasized on the slogan ‘One Nation One Education’. He said that there should be Sanatan consciousness in education, there should be consciousness about India's overall cultural, social, political, economic heritage, and we must move forward with all these . He said that children should study history, Vedic Math in Math, Vedic Science in Science and all the children should have a sense of unity and integrity of India, national religion, love for the nation, thinking of national interest and our future generations should become divine citizens. During the event, when journalists asked about a strong Lokpal, he said that his struggle for a strong and effective Lokpal is still going on.

NISA President Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that 100 Model schools will be built in Haryana and Delhi NCR and these schools will be accessed first by mapping them with NISA's quality charter. He said that whatever shortcomings are found in these schools, efforts will be made to eliminate them, so that these become quality schools and prove to be exemplary for the whole country. He said that NISA will help step by step in realizing the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the country a world leader.

Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that a large number of school directors and principals from various states across the country like Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh etc. participated in today's program. This event provided a unique platform for innovation, leadership and effective implementation of the new education policy in the education sector. All the schools present in this summit together resolved to make the new education policy successful and work together for its effective implementation.

Speaking at this summit, Executive Director (Former) IAS Nagendra Prasad Singh of the Indian Education Board said that it is necessary to change the form of education with time. He said that in today's time, education means only getting a job, due to which there is a lack of leadership and support in the students. He said that the Indian Education Board will overcome this shortage. He said that this summit has been organised with the aim of giving a new direction to the future of education, discussing policy changes and empowering school leadership.

Carmel Convent student Samaira D’Souza clinches Bronze Medal at Junior National Fencing Championship 2024-25

Chandigarh, December 15, 2024: In a remarkable feat of determination and talent, 15-year-old Samaira D’Souza, a student of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, has won a bronze medal at the 32nd Junior National Fencing Championship 2024-25, held in Patna, Bihar, recently.

 

Samaira, who began her fencing journey just eight months ago under the expert tutelage of Coach Mukesh Kumar at Apex Fencing Club, showcased exceptional skill and poise in the team epee event - epee is a lightweight fencing sword. Samaira alongside her teammate, Kaashvi Garg, represented Chandigarh with distinction.

 

They triumphed in a nail-biting quarterfinal match against Karnataka, securing a victory with a score of 45-41 and ultimately earning the bronze medal in the Junior National Fencing Championship, which saw participants from across the country.

 

Samaira said: "Winning this medal is a dream come true and a testament to the hard work and guidance I have received. I am grateful to my coach, my team, and my school for their unwavering support. This is just the beginning, and I look forward to making Chandigarh proud on bigger stages."

 

Coach Mukesh Kumar, while expressing his pride, said: "Samaira’s journey is truly inspirational. To achieve this level of success within just eight months speaks volumes about her dedication, focus, and natural talent. She has set a benchmark for young athletes, and I am confident she will continue to excel and bring more laurels to Chandigarh and the nation."

"Organize Community Kitchens on Religious Occasions": Social Worker Amitabh Rungta

Panchkula, December 14, 2024: Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation held its 144th Community Kitchen in Phase 1 Industrial Area, Panchkula.  

On this occasion, Amitabh Rungta, the founder of the NGO and a social worker, appealed to all sections of society to organize Community Kitchens on religious occasions. He emphasized that this noble act will foster harmony and cooperation in society.  

Rungta further stated that this initiative is not just a religious duty but also an important way to promote goodwill within the community. He added that distributing food free of cost to the general public is a virtuous deed, and allows even recipients to participate in this act of kindness.  

During the free distribution of food, Amitabh Rungta was actively accompanied by Anupama Rungta, Chaitanya Rungta, Pragati, Sukhpal Singh, and Suresh Jangra. These members of the foundation distributed meals to passersby.

Dev Samaj Mahotsav has kicked off at Dev Samaj Head Office, Sector 36 B, Chandigarh . The celebrations began with a Pravesh Sabha and rendition of soulful Bhajans by students of the Dev Samaj Colleges. The Mahotsav marks the 174th Birth Anniversary of the founder of Dev Samaj, the revered Bhagwan Dev Atma. The faculty, staff and students of Dev Samaj Institutions along with the followers of Dev Samaj from all over thecountry are participating in the grand event. 

Shriman Nirmal Singh Ji Dhillon, Chairman, Dev Samaj said, " During the celebrations daily discourses on social ethics and cultural values as laid down in Dev Samaj teachings would be held."

Four-Day Machma Expo 2024 begins with pomp in Chandigarh

RPI (Athawale) State President Advocate Ravi Kundli Meets Haryana CM Naib Saini

6th Edition of Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament Held

Panchkula, December 1, 2024: The Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) a non-governmental organisation(NGO) organised the 6th edition of its prestigious golf tournament for amateurs– The Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament, at the Panchkula Golf Club(PGC). Anurag Rastogi (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Finance), Government of Haryana, was the chief guest, while guests of honour were Suresh Chandel, former MP from Himachal Pradesh and Sanjeev Goyal (IAAS), Director General Audit (Defence Accounts), Chandigarh. The tournament saw an impressive participation of 104 amateur golfers, many amateur women golfers also took part.

Winners in different handicap categories got trophies and special prizes. All the participants were given a goodie pack and participation score card. The golfers played all 18 holes in the 72-par course. Brig G J Singh won in the 0-9 handicap category. Brig R P S Rai won in the 10-15 handicap category with a score of 76. Col Gopi Singh with a score of 82 was the 1st runner up. With a score of 76 Sunil Katyal was adjudged the winner in the 16 & above handicap category. While, with a score of 79 each 

S K Goel and A P Singh were the combined 1st runners-up . In ladies the overall winners were Arushi Chawhan & Radhika Verma. The longest drive award was bagged by R K Meena (IPS).

Anurag Rastogi(IAS) congratulated AGS for organising the tournament and promoting the game. The PGC golf course is a beautiful place to play golf with such facilities and tournaments like these more people will get attracted to play the game.

Advocate (High Court) Suresh K. Gupta, Founder Trustee of the Amateur Golfers Society while talking to reporters said, “We have plans to create a state-of-the-art golf range at PGC for giving a fillip to the sport. We will then establish golf ranges in all districts of Haryana in 1 year. We want support from the Haryana government in this regard. We are also coming up with another tournament on 8 & 9 February 2025. What’s more, the AGS has finalised holding a tournament in Malaysia in collaboration with the Malaysian Government.”

Gupta also raised the issue of NHAI wanting to take over 2 acres of the golf course for building a road. I have requested Mr Chandel to get this sorted out.

Suresh Chandel said that he will meet Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and take up the issue with him so that a resolution is reached.

November : 13th marks the World Kindness Day, a global celebration dedicated to promoting acts of generosity and compassion. Kindness as a concept is integral to human nature and entails empathising with, sharing, and alleviating the pain and suffering of one another. While the occasion encourages us to practice kindness towards ourselves and others, one often overlooked yet significant deed is showing kindness to the voiceless of our country. The condition of community dogs of India, often subject to hunger, disease, and abuse, mirrors the grave depravity and critical importance of extending our service beyond our kin.

India is home to an estimated 60 to 70 million stray dogs, and yet, the choice for pedigree dogs as companions still remains perniciously popular. While individuals are entitled to their right to choose, this choice, however, is rooted in ignorance. It lacks necessary background checks and entirely disregards the abuse and extreme cruelty that the backyard breeding industry thrives on. Advocate and Animal Rights Activist Niharika Kashyap stated that countless unethical breeders force female dogs to breed more than twice a year, which in essence is rape, just to make more money. Additionally, the newborn puppies are separated from their mothers and are sold at an alarmingly young age.

The reality of stray dogs similarly paints a very grim picture. There is ample evidence available on Google search for dog rape cases in India which grossly falls short to represent the actual number of such incidents in our country. Our community dogs battle for survival throughout their lives amidst traffic, worsening weather conditions, toxic waste products, scarcity of food and water, and rampant animal cruelty. Furthermore, the perception of housing societies in India is increasingly inclining towards viewing them as nuisances rather than as living and breathing creatures capable of feeling physical and mental pain. This attitude further extends to rescuers who work tirelessly to feed, rescue, and rehabilitate abandoned dogs while exposing themselves to the dangers of being at the receiving end of threats and violence. Overall, the feeling of contempt for stray dogs is leading to growing indifference and being out of touch with human qualities such as kindness, compassion, and care.

Rescuing stray dogs isn’t just about easing their suffering; it‘s about creating a culture of kindness and responsibility that guarantees a positive societal impact. Developing empathy toward animals has previously been associated with increased pro-social behaviour and improved interpersonal relationships. In India, where community spirit thrives in the form of shared compassion, we have an opportunity to build and extend this sense of unity to protect the most vulnerable members of our society—our community dogs.

This World Kindness Day, let’s pledge not just to be kind, but to be agents of change for those who cannot speak for themselves.  In order to further improve the potential of the ‘Cyber Helpline 1930’, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Monday inaugurated the enhanced call centre of 1930 Helpline to help people in reporting cyber financial frauds in real-time and also launched ‘Cyber Mittar Chatbot’ for providing assistance to queries relating to cyber crimes.

 To ensure the helpline's effectiveness, the DGP made a trial call to 1930 during the inauguration and interacted with the representative to understand the working of the helpline. 

 Pertinently, Cyber Helpline 1930 is a Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs under Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), which allows victims of cyber financial frauds to freeze their money in the accounts of the accused/suspects immediately after the registration of complaint on this helpline. In Punjab, Helpline 1930 was made operational from September 2021.

 DGP Gaurav Yadav said that these cutting-edge innovations will enhance cybercrime reporting and ensure rapid resolution of financial frauds, empowering citizens in the digital world. Cyber Mittar Chatbot will ensure instant info access with 24x7 assistance and swift response which will ensure confidential reporting to protect details of citizens, he added. 

 "Till date, as many as 26,625 complaints regarding various cyber frauds have been reported on 1930 Helpline and NCRP portal in Punjab, acting swiftly on which, the Cybercrime Cell proactively freezed/ lien marked funds moved out of victims’ accounts by cyber fraudsters with a success rate of 17% in 2024,” said the DGP, while adding that an amount of Rs 57 crore of victims have been lien marked in the bank accounts of the suspect fraudsters.

 ADGP Punjab Cybercrime Division V Neeraja apprised the DGP Punjab the Punjab State Cybercrime Division has made significant strides in combating cybercrime, enhancing public awareness, and strengthening police capabilities. The establishment of 28 new Cyber Police Stations across the state, notified by the Government of Punjab in March 2024, has led to 205 FIRs being registered and investigated, she said.

The Cyber Mittar Chatbot is an innovative initiative of the Punjab Police’s Cybercrime Division, which anyone can access by logging in at “https://cybercrime.punjabpolice.gov.in" to get instant information pertaining to cybercrime prevention and reporting queries.

Cyber Mittar Chatbot offers several key benefits, including 24/7 support, allowing citizens to reach out at their convenience, rather than being limited to police station hours. It provides a safe and non-judgmental space for reporting cybercrimes or seeking help. Additionally, the chatbot communicates in various languages, including the vernacular language of Punjab, breaking down language barriers. 

Soon, Cyber Mittar Chatbot will be integrated with the WhatsApp platform within the next 15 days, expanding its reach and accessibility.

Airtel's AI-powered network solution has enabled customers in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh to bid farewell to spam calls and SMSes

Chandigarh, October 14, 2024:* Bharti Airtel's new AI-powered spam detection system has provided much-needed relief to customers in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. In the 18 days since its launch, this pioneering telecom solution has successfully identified 157 million potential spam calls and 3 million spam SMS messages in these states.

All Airtel mobile customers in the state can now have automatic access to the free solution without needing to request service or download an app.

Developed in-house by Airtel’s data scientists, the AI-powered solution uses a proprietary algorithm to identify and classify calls and SMSes as "Suspected Spam". The network powered by a state-of-the-art AI algorithm analyses various parameters such as the caller or sender's usage patterns, call/SMS frequency and call duration amongst several others, on a real time basis. By cross-referencing this information against known spam patterns, the system flags suspected spam calls and SMSes accurately.  

A dual-layered protection, the solution has two filters – one at the network layer and the second at the IT systems layer. Every call and SMS passes through this dual-layered AI shield. In two milliseconds the solution processes 1.5 billion messages and 2.5 billion calls. This is equivalent to processing 1 trillion records on a real time basis using the power of AI.

Additionally, the solution also alerts customers to malicious links received via SMS. For this, Airtel has built a centralized database of blacklisted URLs and every SMS is scanned in real time by a state-of-the-art AI algorithm to caution users from accidently clicking on suspicious links. The solution can also detect anomalies such as frequent IMEI changes – a typical indicator of fraudulent behaviour. By layering these protective measures, the company is ensuring its customers receive the maximum level of defence against the evolving landscape of spam and fraud threats.

Customers can expect to receive calls from these 160-prefix series assigned to Banks, Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Stockbrokers, other financial institutions, Corporates, Enterprises, SMEs, big and small businesses used for making transactional and service calls.  

Additionally, those customers who have not opted for Do-not-disturb (DND) or have subscribed to receiving promotional calls will continue to receive them from a 10-digit number with the prefix 140.

Vrindavan Prakat Utsav and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha are being organized at the Mela Ground of Sector 34 under the aegis of Shri Krishna Priya Ju Sankirtan Mandal, which will continue till October 13.

Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria attended the third day of the Katha today. On this occasion, the organizers of the program B Praak and Munish Bajaj gave a grand welcome to the Governor and Motivational Speaker Jaya Kishori. After that, the Katha started with Radha Raman Hari Bol with full rituals.

World famous Katha Vyas Param Pujya Shri Indresh Maharaj said that Chandigarh has now become Vrindavan due to the efforts of singer B Prak. He said that the place where worship is done, that land becomes worthy of worship. The land in Chandigarh where Puja is being performed today will become worthy of worship after seven days. He said that the place of worship is already chosen by Mahadev. He said that now big leaders of the saint community will also come to this Katha. He also promised to come next year.

Param Pujya Shri Indresh Maharaj told about Gopi Nath ji in the story narration. He said that lucky people get to listen to satsang and we should apply the things heard in satsang in our life. He told that earlier there was only one Veda, but Ved Vyas ji wrote four Vedas. Earlier, all the questions were answered by pronouncing the word Om, but when Kalyug came, the rest of the Vedas were written. He said that four things have been written in them. First, how to follow religion. Second, how to get salvation. Third, we should do only that work which gives satisfaction and fourth, saint and spring both come in the same way. When spring comes, nature improves and when saint comes, people improve.

On this occasion, Swami Ram ji Maharaj thanked Chandigarh for making Vrindavan Dham. He said that B Praak sings film songs, but now his world has changed. Now Radha Rani and Lord Krishna are everything for him. He said that B Prak has made Radha Radha in Bollywood also.

On this occasion, singer B Prak told that the famous saints of the country are reaching this Bhagwat Katha. He said that well-known religious gurus including Pujya Swami Kailash Nand Giri Ji Maharaj Mahamandaleshwar Niranjan Akhara Parishad, Chitralekha, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri (Bageshwar Sarkar), Manoj Mohan Shastri Ji, Mohit Murali Ji, Gurudev Bhagwan Ji and Aniruddhacharya are reaching the program.

समाजसेवी और उद्योगपति एम. के. भाटिया ने अपने 70 सहकर्मियों के साथ मिलकर 5 अक्टूबर को होने वाले चुनावों में 100% मतदान के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाने का एक अनूठा अभियान चलाया। इस अभियान के तहत उन्होंने अमरटेक्स चौक पर एक ह्यूमन चेन बनाई, जो लोकतंत्र में हर नागरिक के मताधिकार के महत्व को उजागर करने का प्रयास था।

इस जागरूकता अभियान के दौरान, एम. के. भाटिया और उनकी टीम ने जनता को मतदान का महत्व समझाते हुए कई स्लोगन प्रस्तुत किए, जैसे:
