ITC's new HP facility commences production of Savlon sanitisers


Chandigarh, March 31: To serve a larger national priority during these challenging times, ITC’s state-of-the-art perfume manufacturing facility at Manpura in Solan district has commenced production of Savlon Sanitisers to cater to the soaring demand due to the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic.

Commissioned recently in November 2019, the factory at Manpura is a world class facility designed to produce premium fine fragrances.

Amidst the global health crisis and the unprecedented surge in demand for hand hygiene products like sanitisers, ITC, on a war footing, repurposed this world class perfume facility to help produce an additional 1,25,000 litres of Savlon Hand Sanitisers .

During these challenging times, ITC has redoubled its efforts to ensure enhanced supply and availability of Savlon range of products in the market. This intervention will enable ITC to meet the demand surge for sanitisers in the market.  In line with the Government order and in public interest, ITC has also reduced prices of Savlon sanitisers and is working overnight to reach the new stocks with the revised prices to the market. ITC has also reinforced its efforts to enhance awareness about the importance of hand hygiene through campaigns across digital, print and other communication platforms.

DLF contributes Rs. 5 crores to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Haryana


Chandigarh: The COVID-19 has disrupted normal life and business in India and across the world. The need of the hour is to protect all sections of society in the country and to keep them safe and protected. In this challenging time to support the authorities and underprivileged, realty major DLF has contributed a sum of Rs 5 crores to the Chief Minister of Haryana’s relief fund. The Group also distributed 350 ration packets (including rice, pulses, flour) to the underprivileged people of Dalhuwal Village in Panchkula.

In addition to that, DLF Foundation has also distributed ration packets to more than 15,000 families in Gurugram and Manesar. The food packs contained 5 kg of flour, 2 kg of rice, pulses, spices, salt and cooking oil. Apart from this, 50,000 face masks, 3 lakh gloves and sanitizers were also distributed among district authorities in Gurgaon. Along with that 25,000 face masks were given to Faridabad authorities for further distribution. DLF in coordination with the District Administration is also providing cooked meals to more than 60,000 migrant labourers in Gurugram and Manesar.

DLF Foundation is working with its partners for the welfare of migrant workers. It is leveraging its reach through its presence in 24 cities. We are collaborating with various departments across the country to ensure that the underprivileged and migrant workers have food and essentials.

UNITED SIKHS initiates Awareness Campaign and launches Food Bank in response to COVID-19


Mohali / Chandigarh, March 26,2020:

UNITED SIKHS has launched an Awareness Campaign and Food Bank in response to COVID 19 crisis. The organization has been sanitizing ATMs and banks in Chandigarh and Mohali. Masks and sanitizers were also distributed in Punjab, Faridabad, Delhi and Ambala. An Awareness campaign drive was initiated in Delhi, Punjab and Faridabad, while food is being distributed to the needy around the world.

The food is made available to the needy even at the door step of the ones who are unable to move out. The organization ensures distribution of over the counter (OTC) medicines, basic food supplies and hot meals (langar). This facility is mainly provided to the international students, elderly people of over 65 years of age, living alone and are vulnerable. Single  mothers, disabled and isolated people of the lower income group are also taken care.

Hardayal Singh, UNITED SIKHS Director (USA), said, “UNITED SIKHS delivers free food to the people in New York City, one of the worst Corona affected cities in the USA. Strict food hygiene practices are observed during the preparation of food by the volunteers using gloves, masks and the maintaining social distance.”
UNITED SIKHS is an UN-affiliated, international non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian relief, human development and advocacy organization, registered in 11 countries, including USA, Canada, UK, Australia and India.

Parvinder Singh, UNITED SIKHS Director said, “The organization in India is registered in Punjab under the Societies Registration Act. We have been conducting projects in order to transform, alleviate, educate and protect the lives of underprivileged, individuals and minority communities impacted by disasters, natural or man-made, suffering from hunger, illiteracy, diseases, or from violation of civil and human-rights into informed and vibrant members of society by fostering sustainable programs regardless of color, race, religion or creed.”

The projects are being conducted under the three main Directorates include, Community Empowerment and Education Division (CEED) for supporting premium education to the under-privileged for empowerment of women and youth, Humanitarian Aid – under which humanitarian aid is provided during the time of disasters to the survivors and International Civil and Human Rights Advocacy, through which civil and human rights of minorities and marginalized groups are protected.


The Directors in India include Pritam Singh, Parvinder Singh, Jasmeet Singh and Mohinder Jit Singh. Singer and actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi is also part of the India operations.

GBP Group starts ‘Namaste Karona’- raises awareness about Corona


Chandigarh: To spread awareness about pandemic Coronavirus, the leading real estate developer of Tricity- GBP Group has started a campaign- “Namaste Karona”. The group encouraged people to greet each other with Namaste instead of handshakes. Also, the group distributed sanitizers and masks to all.

GBP Group believes that at present, the whole world is battling with this pandemic and is it best to take precautions in advance.
