HERO MOTOCORP TO ORGANISE ITS POPULAR XTRACKS RIDING EXPERIENCE ALONG WITH THE RALLY

The 33rd edition of the Hero SJOBA Rally will be organized from February 28 – March 1, 2020 in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and will be flagged-off from St Johns High School, Chandigarh.

The oldest rally in the region, the Hero SJOBA Rally is organized by St. John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA). This is the second consecutive year that Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, is the title sponsor of the Rally. 

In its 33rd edition, the Rally will witness over 90 competitors in the cars and bikes categories, with the highest ever participation of female competitors.  Over the years, top rally drivers and riders in India have participated in this Rally, which is a regular event on the official calendar of the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI).  

Talking about the Rally and association with Hero MotoCorp, Sorabh Tayal, President, SJOBA said, “We are very happy that the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer and a global brand, Hero MotoCorp, has continued to stay on-board as the Title Sponsor of the Rally for the second consecutive year. We thank them for the support and expect the Rally to become even bigger and more popular now.”   

The Rally will start with detailed scrutiny of the vehicles in Mohali on Day 1, followed by the SSS (Spectator Stage). Day 2 will see the competitive stage being flagged-off, post which the competitors will cover approximately 200-250 kms daily in the picturesque locales of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

This year’s route has been revamped to ensure new competitive sections, which would put to test both man and machine over a rigorous period of two days. Additionally, the routes include dense shrubbery, riverbeds and a night stage as well.  The terrain is a mix of plains, hills, plateaus and forests, which has roads varying from asphalt passes to rough forest tracks and tarmac roads. 

The Rally will culminate with the felicitation ceremony in Chandigarh on March 1, 2020.

The event – to be held on Friday, February 27, at JLPL City, Sector 66 A, JLPL Industrial Area, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali, from 7am till 12pm – will provide bike enthusiasts in the region the opportunity to hit the dirt on the 2020 Indian Motorcycle of the Year - the Hero XPulse 200.

Starting with this edition of the XTracks, Hero MotoCorp will also provide participants the opportunity to ride the recently launched XPulse Rally Kit. 

The Rally Kit transforms the XPulse 200 into an accessible and competitive purpose-built machine, enabling enthusiasts to improve their off-roading skills and test their limits. It also encourages young riders to build a career in motorsports. The Rally Kit comprises of Front fully-adjustable telescopic fork with 250mm stroke and fully adjustable 10 step rear Mono shock with 220 mm stroke. Upping the comfort quotient and riding stance is a host of features - the Flat ‘bench’ seat, handle bar risers, increased ground clearance of 275mm, rally tyres by Maxxis, longer side stand and an extended gear lever to accommodate off-road style boots.

The musician, Devki Anand, Meet Khanna, Smt Meeta Khanna & Smt Kanchan presented composition / Gazal quite in harmony with the senctity of the programme & the audience enjoyed it emmengly. The Poets Sh. Amar Ambalvi, Narelvi, Pravez recited the best Poems/ Gazals to mark the occasion. Overall the Function was Marvellous& unique every participant was honoured with a momento each

Fun, Food & Culture Fest -2020 at Adarsh Public Smart School (APS 20)

Chandigarh Feb 15, 2020 Adarsh Public Smart School (APS-20) Sec-20,Chd. organized a Fun,Food and Culture fest -2020 in the school premises. Councillor and Ex Mayor Mrs. Asha Jaswal was the special guest. Students performed a skit on save water, fit India and Swachh Abhiyan Campaign was also represented by students of APS. 

On this occasion, the school was decorated in a very attractive way. The students were given the opportunity to celebrate and move around. Many fun games and food stalls were arranged to make this event interesting. The aim of the program was to freshen up students and make them stress-free before the annual examinations.

A beautiful dance performance depicting the theme Unity in Diversity of India was praised by everyone.  Many fun and food stalls were also organized by staff as well as students. Parents also enjoyed fun games. Fest was concluded with dance by parents, students and staff.

Principal, Ms. Sunita Thakur praised the efforts of the students and said, ‘Fest was successfully completed. Two lucky draws were held for parents and students, which included two film tickets and a buffet dinner as prizes. The theme of the program was Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.

8th Global Festival of Journalism Propagated Positive Journalism

National Great Icon Award to pay tribute to Pulwama martyrs

The award is a step in that direction and dedicated to martyrs of Pulwama.

Chandigarh :  The official mascot of the 36th National Games of India, Rubigula, Flame-Throated Bulbul made a grand entry amidst traditional Shigmo and Carnaval acts at a glittering Launch Event held at the GTDC Roof Top, Panaji on Saturday.
Rubigula was an instant hit amongst everyone present there with everyone jostling to get a glimpse of the mascot. The name for the mascot ‘Rubigula’ was chosen after sports enthusiasts from across India were invited to submit their suggestions through a social media contest.
Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State (I/c) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri. Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State (I/c) for AYUSH and President of Goa Olympic Association Shri. Shripad Naik, Dy. Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Goa Shri. Manohar Ajgaonkar, Indian Olympic Association President Mr Narinder Dhruv Batra and Secretary General Mr. Rajeev Mehta, Sports Minister of Haryana Shri. Sandeep Singh, Sports Minister of Tripura Shri. Manoj Kanti Deb, Sports Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri. Mama Natung, Sports Secretaries of various states, sportspersons, NGOC members and other dignitaries marked their presence at the event.
Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Sushil Singh and World Champion in Athletics Anju Bobby George also graced the evening with their presence.
 Goa will be hosting the 36th edition of the National Games from 20th October to 4th November 2020. The event will see participation by 36 states and union territories, 12,000 + athletes/officials and will host 37 sports disciplines across 24 venues in Goa.
Commenting on the launch event, Chief Minister of Goa & Chairman of the NGOC Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “There was no better way to begin the festivities for the National Games than the unveiling of the mascot ‘Rubigula’. The mascot incorporates the best elements and characteristics of Goa and the Goan people. It is another step forward for the preparations of the National Game and Rubigula will generate even more interest for these Games, especially among young people.”“It was the vision and dream of our late Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Manohar Parrikar to host the National Games in Goa. We are confident of successfully executing the event. We are on track to host the multi-discipline sporting event which will bring superlative talent from across India to the Goan turf. Through these Games, we also wish to showcase our culture, food, natural beauty and extend our hospitality to all the States and UTs that will be coming to Goa during the Games,” Sawant added.
Union Minister of State (I/c) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri. Kiren Rijiju said, “Goa is a sport loving state and with the Government actively promoting sports in the State there is no reason why Goa cannot become a powerhouse in sports. World class infrastructure has been created for these Games which will benefit sportspersons in the State. The Games will help imbibe a sports culture in the State. We are expecting a grand celebration from October 20 to November 4 which will bring athletes from across India. I’m confident that Goa will do a great job in hosting the Games and the National Games 2020 will be the best and biggest ever in the history of India.”
Dy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Goa, Shri Babu Manohar Azgaonkar said, “Enthusiasm and interest for the National Games Goa 2020 is growing and will continue to grow as we get even closer to the staging the country’s biggest multi-discipline sporting event. The infrastructure created for these Games will have long-term benefits for the State and its people in the years to come. With just nine months to go for the event, activities around the National Games are set to significantly increase in the coming months with Rubigula leading the flock. I urge everyone to actively participate to make the Games a successful event.”
The guests at the Launch Event were treated to an extravagant series of performances that embodied the spirit of Goa. The splendid evening was hosted by renowned television personality Anusha Dandekar.
