Chandigarh : Cinema is the best way to show the beauty of a country and its culture, the film is a medium that attracts the viewers to see another country and also promotes tourism, said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios on the second day of the Global Film Festival Noida.

On this occasion, Ambassador of Slovenia, Dr. Marjen cencen, Chairman of TAAI Skill and Education, Rajan Sehgal, Holland's Film Maker Farhad, Screenwriter Kamlesh Pandey, Film Actor Jaswinder Gardener, Film Director Raju Pareskar and Film Maker Brijesh Rai gave his views. The subject of today's seminar was "A Powerful Way to Promote Tourism". Dr. Marjen cencen said that Slovenia is a small but beautiful country, which is between Western and Eastern Europe, that's why people like to come here and shoot. Shooting in our country is also very cheap.

Asein Isaev said that in the last few years Shooting of Indian films has started taking place in our country and cinema is the best means to understand and know a country.  Dr. Sergei Fandeev said that cinema not only connects people, but also connects countries,In our country, the Hindi film Bombay was very popular. K. L. Ganju said that I have been associated with Marwah Studios for a long time and come to the Global Film Festival every year, It is the largest film festival in the country.Uday Shankar Pani said that cinema is the best medium to convey anything to people.

NBFC PHF LEASING DILUTES STAKE

 

Chandigarh: PHF LEASING LIMITED (a part of EZ Capital), is a listed public limited company, and a deposit taking NBFC registered with the RBI, making it a rare type of NBFC to be both.

 The company has its registered office at 923, G.T. Road, Jalandhar, Punjab. It  has been around for almost three decades, since 1992, and is primarily engaged in financing of all types of Two-Wheelers and Four-Wheelers, and forayed into mortgage loans against Immovable Property for supporting MSME and Affordable Housing.

 

This year, the promoters diluted their stake and also issued Non-Convertible Debentures on a private placement basis. According to sources, PHF Leasing is looking to dilute further, and is already in talks with some domestic and International Private Equity Funds to raise Equity & Debt for their future expansion.

 

We tried to contact PHF Leasing Ltd. and one of the promoters, Ashish Bhandari. They were unavailable for comment.

Young film makers break stereotypes associated with Punjabi cinema, make short film 'Pinds of Punjab' using concept of ‘cinematic realism’

Chandigarh, November 17, 2020:  Breaking stereotypes associated with the Punjabi film industry - a group of young & enthusiastic city based film-makers have made a 15 minute short film ‘Pinds of Punjab’,  by using the concept of 'cinematic realism’.  'Cinematic realism' is a type of film making style which presents characters that are very much akin to real life people & the style of making establishes a realistic feel amongst the audience. The short film 'Pinds of Punjab' has been released recently on YouTube under the banner of Tranza Studio.

The independent short film depicts different hues of present-day rural Punjab, by touching issues like substance abuse and caste based discrimination.

Twenty-year-old(20) Nishaant Singh Bhinder, founder & MD of Tranza who has also directed and written 'Pinds of Punjab' said, "The short film has the potential to change the perception of Punjabi cinema as it is viewed in India and around the globe. It does offer a new avatar of Punjabi cinema. The story is told realistically  without much fanfare. The fact that the genre of the film is 'crime thriller' also puts it in a different league."

AKS Mehraj a well known actor and writer of the Punjabi Film Industry has written the dialogues of the film and has also acted in it.

Anmol Sidhu(26) , creative director added, “The genre is less explored in Punjabi cinema and the unconventional style of storytelling and shooting compliments the overall screenplay.”

The story revolves around the life of a couple, the girl is the daughter of a  prominent landlord and is eloping with a migrant farm labourer from Bihar, who belongs to an inferior caste to her, as she is an upper caste Jat Sikh. As the story unfolds, it exposes the couple to many hurdles which manifest themselves due to a nexus of extortion, drugs, and caste abuse.

It is noteworthy that Tranza Studios, has been co-founded by a team of the young individuals based in Chandigarh, and has been operating in India, Ireland, and Canada. In the past 3 years, the studio has successfully delivered 2 feature films and 8 short films, which have even received recognition at National and International Film Festivals.

Angad Singh(20), cinematographer & producer said, “The short film offers something new. The characters are very relatable and the portrayal quite natural, these aspects am sure will be something that audiences will like.”

Jappreet Singh(24) who has made the music score said, " Each character including the location of the film is associated with a particular music instrumentation. It's the combination of these that help achieve the goal set out for the music of the film."

The lead actress is Hashneen Chauhan who has also featured in films like 'Yaar Jigri Kasuti Degree' & 'Daakuaan Da Munda'. The other actors include  Shivam & Gagan Gill who are both theatre actors. Jasnoor Deol has debuted as an actor in the film.

Divjot S. Jattana and Piyush Singla are the executive producers,  Gurbaaz Maken the post production supervisor,  Uday Jain Oswal , the DI(digital intermediary)  colourist and  Saurabh Arora the VFX (visual effects)supervisor, Aryan Sharma & Divjot S. Jattana worked as unit production managers.

Rohit Sharma became general secretary of Beed Billing Paragliding Association

Chandigarh: Young entrepreneur Rohit Sharma of Chandigarh has been appointed the General Secretary of Paragliding Association. Rohit Sharma has thanked President Sudhir Sharma for this appointment. Rohit Sharma is a young entrepreneur who has organized many successful employment fairs since the age of 23, in which many youth of the state have got employment opportunities at the national and international level. He said that I am ready to fully fulfill the responsibility given to me and will make every effort in the country, abroad and Himachal to take billing adventure paragliding to a higher level.

At the same time, President of the association Sudhir Sharma says that April and May are favorable for the competition. The association has already started preparations for the pre-world cup. Billing Adventure Paragliding Association, registered with the Department of Tourism and accredited with Adventure and Aero Sports, has conducted successful competitions before. The time of October in the valley is considered to be the most favorable for large-scale competition. A large number of international paraglider pilots knock into the valley in October. Sudhir Sharma said that surely the appointment of Rohit Sharma Paragliding Association as the Secretary-General will give the association strength and new energy.

4th Edition of Hindi Cinema Samman Announced for 28th November

Chandigarh: HINDI CINEMA SAMMAN SAMAROH was initiated under the Chairmanship of Shri Shatrughan Sinha on 12th November 2017 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi to accord national recognition to Hindi Cinema aka Bollywood for uniting and integrating the nation by popularising Hindi as the link language of India and by evolving a pan-Indian culture by combining the best elements from all the regional cultures of India and for flying the flag of Indian culture and civilisation high all over the world by the undisputed global popularity of Bollywood Cinema.

HINDI CINEMA SAMMAN SAMAROH was held successfully in 2017 with Hon'ble Shri Vijay Kumar Goel, Union Minister as chief guest; in 2018 with Hon'ble Shri Vijay Sampla and Hon'ble Shri Satya Pal Singh, Union Ministers as chief guests and in 2019 with Hon'ble Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, Governor Kerala as Chief Guest informed Ashok Tyagi Secretary General of ICMEI.

Tiwari, and  ICMEI- International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry president Sandeep Marwah. The jury is currently finalising the awardees for the virtual awards function which will be held on 28th November.
